Ashmita is a Visiting Faculty of Macroeconomics and Microeconomics at King’s College. She holds Masters in Economics (with specialization in the World Economy) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and a B.A. Economics (honors) with minors in Sociology and Political Science from Christ University, Bangalore.
Previously, she has led projects with the Internet and Mobile Association of India, KPMG, Chaudhary Group, and the Indian School of Business wherein the major tasks included submitting research reports on economics and digital policies of India, and organizing roundtable discussions with key stakeholders of the digital industry for facilitating the voluntary code of conduct for Social Media platforms (including Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Google, ShareChat and TikTok, etc.) to ensure free, fair & ethical usage of Social Media during elections along with Digital Curated Content Complaint Council (DCCCC) for Self-Regulation of Online Curated Content Providers. She has also managed the PR team across brand strategy, creative, content, media, and analytics, to develop and execute positioning initiatives in global business platforms.
Currently, she is a Partnership Specialist at the UKaid Skills for Employment Programme (सीप) with WSP USA which is working with governments and the private sector to deliver market-led interventions for enabling enterprise-driven skilling, job, and financial access targeted towards economic development of priority sectors in Nepal. On the personal side, she is a fitness enthusiast and an avid reader.
