King’s College, Nepal announced a new partnership with Meet Ventures, Singapore. It aims to foster regional entrepreneurial collaborations across Asia as both King’s College and MEET Ventures have extensive experience in the entrepreneurship eco-system in the region. Asmod Karki, Lead at Growth and Innovation Studies (GIS) at King’s College and John Lim, Partner at MEET Ventures signed the MOU on behalf of their organizations.
MEET Ventures is a corporate-startup innovation firm, focused on Asia. The firm’s vision is to make corporate innovation and startup development succeed. For innovation, MEET Ventures helps corporates achieve their innovation objectives and improve profitability through partnership with startups, for incubation it helps aspiring entrepreneurs increase their chances of success by equipping them with research-proven business knowledge and skillsets, and for investment, it helps outstanding founders scale their business by providing them with funding and networks to succeed. MEET Ventures is partner of Singapore’s biggest startup competition known as SLINGSHOT2020 which is organized by Enterprise Singapore.
Through this new partnership, MEET Ventures will provide access to opportunities for funding from the corporate clients. Students at the college will also be able to receive mentorship from MEET Ventures and its associates, and gain access to events and competitions from Singapore and Southeast Asia. “The partnership will be our first in Nepal. Each country will have its own strengths when nurturing and developing entrepreneurs and we are excited to see the type of entrepreneurs in the 21st century that will arise from Nepal,” mentioned Farhan Firdaus, Partner at MEET Ventures.
“We are quite excited about this collaboration with MEET Ventures. We believe this partnership will provide an excellent opportunity for Nepali startups to receive mentorship from international mentors, explore international market, and connect with investors abroad,” said Narottam Aryal, President of King’s College. The college will support MEET Ventures have access to promising startups in Nepal and South Asia. King’s College, through its various research and incubation programs, will also share knowledge and best practices pertaining to entrepreneurship in the region.
The partnership beholds prospects for novel opportunities of growth for Nepali startups, while strengthening entrepreneurship beyond boundaries.
