Empowerment Academy/King’s College facilitated ‘The Science of Story Telling’ workshop for 26 fellows of Teach for Nepal (TFN), yesterday. The Right brain and the Left brain of Empowerment Academy, Umes Shrestha and Abhisekh Maskey, led the session for the participants.
The session was conducted to teach participants to develop a story, build on it, and share it through writing and speaking. Mr. Umes inaugurated the session conducting a small introduction break. Then, Mr. Abhisekh shared stories on his transformation and on how he synced with King’s College and Umes Shrestha to form Empowerment Academy.
In this activity based session, participants from TFN were provided with different transformation stories to discuss, analyze, and share their perspective upon. The fellows were given stories in the forms of pictures and videos. Adding onto activities, facilitators handed chart papers to the fellows to visualize and draw framework and overall concept map of the stories. Participants then paired themselves in two and developed their own version of the stories based on 3 elements: Character, Conflict, and Conclusion.
At the end of the workshop, all fellows shared stories they had developed. Then, they reflected on the session. The fellows said that the session have provided them clarity to write any stories and share them. Lastly, they paid gratitude and thanked King’s College and Empowerment Academy for facilitating this learning platform.
